Job summary

The TJX Companies, in Framingham, MA, is seeking a Financial Accounting Manager to oversee the financial close, ensure accuracy of statements, and provide analysis for US GAAP compliance.

You will hire, mentor, and develop a small team of accountants, review entries and reconciliations, and support external auditors with SOX controls and strategic improvements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Accounting, Audit or Finance experience.
• Prior management experience (1–2+ years preferred).
• CPA/MBA a plus; strong GAAP knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Manage development and mentorship of 2–3 Financial Accountants.
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, and complex accounting transactions.
• Analyze P&L, Balance Sheet, and cash flow statements; ensure accuracy.
• Ensure SOX controls and overall control environment is maintained.
• Lead discussions with Internal and External auditors on related audits.
• Identify opportunities for operational improvements and efficiencies.

Financial Accounting Manager

The Financial Accounting Manageris responsible foremanging thefinancialclose process and related activities, ensuringaccuracy and completeness ofthe related TJXFinancial Statements, as well as presenting andproviding analysis of thesefinancial statements.The Financial Accounting Manager is also responsible forthe hiring,supervision,and developmentofa team of accountants.

• Manage the development and provide mentorship and training to 2-3Financial Accountants.Delegate work and assignments.
• Review journal entries, accountreconciliationsand complex accounting transactions to ensure accuracy of Financial Statements
• Review and analyze Financial Statementsandsupporting schedules/disclosures– P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, Forms 10-Q, 10-K,etc. with a focus on accuracy and timeliness and conformity with US GAAP
• Ensure control environment and SOX controls are maintained
• Ownthe oversight of special projects, managementpresentationsand Ad Hoc requests
• Independently lead the accounting team in meetings with business partners on accounting matters
• Identify & implement opportunities for operational improvement & efficiencies
• Researchandinterpret new and recently issued accounting standards
• Lead discussions with Internal andExternalauditors with related audits

Who We Are Looking For: You.

• 5+ years of Accounting, Audit or Finance experience
• Prior management experience (1to2+ Years Preferred)
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent
• CPA/MBA a plus
• Public Accounting a plus
• Technical accounting andstrongunderstanding of GAAP (public/private or mix)
• Excellentinterpersonal/ relationshipsskills/Strong communicationskills (verbal and written)
• Proventrack recordto delegate and lead team toaccomplishbusiness goals, Ability to assess and develop talent
• Organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment and prioritizeoptimally, with consideration of broader team goals
• Experience leading presentations to senior management

This position has a starting salary range of $104,800.00 to $136,200.00 per year. Actual starting pay is determined by a number of factors, including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual incentive as well as long-term incentives.
