Job summary

DIRECTV invites students to join a 10-week remote Tax Summer Intern program. You will support the Finance organization by analyzing tax data, building SQL reports from Snowflake, and delivering data-driven insights using Excel and Power BI.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a degree in Tax, Accounting or Finance with strong data storytelling, presentation skills, and cross-functional collaboration experience. Remote work is available across the United States.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a 4-year undergraduate degree or advanced degree in Tax, Accounting or Finance.
• Strong Excel and Power BI skills with data storytelling ability.
• Experience with data analytics, visualization, and presenting insights to leaders.

Responsibilities

• Assist in reducing operating taxes and supporting internal tax processes.
• Conduct financial analyses and tax-related research; participate in cross-functional initiatives.
• Develop SQL reports from Snowflake and visualize results.
• Communicate insights effectively to leadership and document processes.

Dive into Tax as a Summer Intern!

The work our team does impacts the DIRECTV Finance organization by minimizing operating taxes, directly benefiting net income. You’ll get the chance to work on internal tax processes and software, putting your education and skills to the test and see real world immediate impact. We work cross-functionally to provide input and support in various initiatives focused on customer- and company-paid taxes.

Project Examples:

• Analytical work to understand the drivers of California property tax values
• Conduct deep financial analysis around pending tax legislation impacting customers and/or DIRECTV
• SQL reporting from Snowflake

Who We’re Looking For

• Students currently pursuing a 4-year undergraduate degree or advanced degree in Tax, Accounting or Finance
• Passion for numbers and data with demonstrated experience in data analytics, visualization
• Comfortable presenting and speaking with leaders
• Highly proficient in Excel and PPT
• SQL experience is a plus
• Power BI
• Data storytelling, ability to synthesize insights out of the data
• Process documentation - ideation to deliverable
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience in virtual, cross-functional collaboration
• Well-organized and able to prioritize
• Self-motivated and able to hold oneself accountable to tasks in a virtual environment

Program Details

• Duration: 10-week remote internship (This is a remote position that can be located anywhere in the United States.)
• Program Dates: 6/7/27 – 8/13/27 or 6/14/27 – 8/20/27
• Eligibility: Must have full U.S. work authorization now and in the future
• This position can earn $25 - $34 per hour, not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at DIRECTV offers. (Hourly rate based on academic status.)
