Job summary

Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP is seeking a Practice Manager for the Finance Business Unit. Based in any US location, the role is hybrid with in-office presence required three days a week.

You will oversee associate staffing, utilization, development, and profitability while partnering with leaders to align resources with client needs and strategic goals. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in a large law firm or corporate legal setting, strong PM and financial acumen, excellent collaboration

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of practice in a large law firm or corporate legal department.
• Strong PM, prioritization, and organizational skills.
• Ability to collaborate with partners, associates and professionals.
• Experience in a matrix environment and discretion with confidential info.
• Excellent communication and customer service in fast-paced settings.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data systems; J.D./MBA is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee associate staffing in the U.S. and utilization for the Finance BU.
• Drive professional development and appropriate matter allocation.
• Coordinate with Talent, Finance and Practice Leaders on hiring targets.
• Analyze metrics and ensure profitability targets are met.
• Support practice administration and budgeting activities.
• Collaborate with innovation teams to deploy resources effectively.
• Mentor associates and address performance challenges promptly.
• Prepare ad hoc financial analyses and reporting.
