Job summary

Illapa Search seeks a Project Finance Of Counsel for its New York office to advise major financial institutions, banks, underwriters, and sponsors on sophisticated project and structured finance transactions with a focus on digital infrastructure and U.S.–Latin America cross-border financings. Qualified candidates must have a J.D.

or foreign equivalent and 8+ years at an international law firm, with extensive experience in energy and infrastructure finance, drafting, negotiating, and supervising

Qualifications

• J.D. or foreign degree plus 8+ years at a leading international law firm.
• Extensive experience representing major banks, note purchasers, borrowers, or sponsors in complex project finance and credit transactions.
• At least 5 years in energy and infrastructure finance, including bank lending or U.S. private placements.
• Strong drafting and negotiation experience across credit agreements, note purchase agreements, and security documents.
• Experience structuring collateral and guarantor packages across multiple jurisdictions.
• At least 3 years supervising attorneys and professional staff, and managing client relationships.
• Licensed to practice in New York State.

A leading global law firm is seeking a Project Finance Of Counsel to join its New York office. This is a high-level opportunity to advise major financial institutions, banks, underwriters, and sponsors on sophisticated project, structured finance, and credit transactions, with a particular focus on digital infrastructure—including data centers, fiber, and related infrastructure as well as U.S.–Latin America cross-border financings.

Job Requirements:

• J.D. or foreign equivalent degree and 8+ years of experience with an international law firm.
• Extensive experience representing major banks, note purchasers, borrowers, or sponsors in complex project, structured finance, and credit transactions.
• At least 5 years of experience in energy and infrastructure finance, including bank lending and/or U.S. private placements.
• Strong drafting and negotiation experience across credit agreements, note purchase agreements, security documents, sponsor support agreements, commitment and fee letters,
• Experience structuring collateral and guarantor packages across multiple jurisdictions.
• At least 3 years of experience supervising attorneys and professional staff, reviewing work product, and managing client relationships.
• Licensed to practice in New York State.
