Job summary

Emerson in Round Rock, Texas is seeking a Finance Operations Intern for the Summer 2027 internship to gain hands-on experience in finance operations. You will work with experienced professionals and contribute to budgeting, reporting, analysis, and process improvement initiatives that support business success.

The role includes developing cost models, supporting monthly close, assisting with audits, and collaborating on reports and dashboards.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university.
• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States. Sponsorship will not be provided for this position.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain models used to calculate fully burdened cost rates.
• Assist with the preparation and analysis of budgets across a variety of functional areas.
• Support finance team activities related to external audits.
• Contribute to special projects involving deferred revenue recognition and financial reporting.
• Learn and support monthly financial close and reporting processes.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and assist in developing reports, dashboards, and analytical tools.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business objectives and enhance operational efficiency.
• Apply analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to real-world business challenges.
