Job summary

Woot.com LLC, an Amazon subsidiary, is seeking a Finance Manager to translate data into actionable insights, lead strategic initiatives, and standardize planning processes. You will partner with leadership to drive growth opportunities and optimize resource allocation.

You will oversee month-end close, long-range planning, and financial modeling across the organization, mentoring the team and delivering insights that influence decisions and improve operational efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field.
  • 5+ years of finance or analytics experience.
  • Proven ability to build financial and operational reports and analyses.
  • 5+ years leading cross-functional initiatives driving financial performance.
  • Experience with forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.

You'll lead strategic initiatives, standardize planning processes, and establish the right controls to enable sound financial decisions, working closely with the Woot leadership team.   • Partner with business leaders to provide strategic financial guidance, build analytical frameworks for new initiatives, and assess return on investment for various business opportunities.
  • Dive deep to build complex analyses, models, and narratives with broad scope that deliver measurable results for the organization.
  • Lead core financial processes including month-end close, annual operating plans, and long-range strategic planning while ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal and external policies.
  • Identify and implement large-scale financial solutions to proactively improve, scale, or simplify finance tools, technology, and processes across teams.
  • Communicate finance topics to Woot and Amazon stakeholders with the right level of detail both verbally and in writing, enabling informed decision-making while effectively challenging assumptions when necessary.
  • Establish strong partnerships with Amazon Accounting and Finance teams
A day in the life

Your day begins with reviewing key financial metrics and preparing for a meeting with business stakeholders to discuss operational performance and planning needs. Throughout the day, you'll work on deep-dive analyses to address specific business questions, collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on financial reporting standards, and develop improved control mechanisms. You'll participate in strategic planning sessions where your financial insights help shape business decisions, and spend time mentoring team members on financial processes and best practices.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field
  • 5+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience
  • 5+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
  • 5+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
  • 5+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
  • 5+ years of leading cross-functional initiatives that drive financial performance and strategy experience
  • 5+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree (MBA or related discipline)
  • 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
  • Experience working in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
