Presbyterian Healthcare Services is seeking a Finance Manager - Strategy to develop advanced financial models, ROI analyses, and business cases. The role partners with executives to evaluate strategic opportunities, leveraging Epic and enterprise data to drive data-driven decision-making across hospitals and clinics.

The ideal candidate will have 5–10 years in healthcare finance, strong Excel modeling skills, and expertise in Strata/EPSi, Tableau, and Power BI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in healthcare, accounting, finance or other quantitative field.
• Masters degree preferred.
• 5–10 years healthcare industry experience in delivery finance, cost accounting or medical economics.
• Expert knowledge of healthcare standards and cost accounting methodologies.
• Strong analytical skills and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain complex Excel-based financial models for programs, capital investments, and strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities:

Financial Modeling & Business Case Development

• Develop and maintain complex, Excel-based financial models to evaluate new programs, service line expansions, capital investments, and strategic initiatives.
• Build comprehensive pro formas, including NPV, IRR, and ROI analyses, incorporating key drivers such as volume, payer mix, reimbursement, and cost structure.
• Perform scenario modeling and sensitivity analysis to quantify risk and inform decision-making.
• Serve as a financial subject matter expert in evaluating the feasibility and financial viability of new and expanded business opportunities.
• Healthcare Data Integration & Analytics (Epic-Centric)
• Identify, source, and integrate data from Epic (professional billing, hospital billing, utilization, and clinical activity) and other enterprise systems to support financial analyses.
• Partner with Data & Analytics and IT teams to define data requirements, develop queries, and combine datasets across multiple sources.
• Ensure data integrity and consistency across analyses, including alignment with cost accounting and decision support systems.
• Translate complex datasets into actionable financial insights and executive-ready deliverables.
• Performance Analysis & Continuous Improvement
• Apply a continuous improvement mindset to streamline financial workflows, reduce manual effort, and enhance reporting efficiency.
• Develop and formalize processes, tools, and best practices for financial modeling and analytics.
• Decision Support Systems & Tools
• Participate in the implementation and optimization of decision support tools (e.g., Strata / EPSi), reporting frameworks, and data governance processes.
• Develop reports and dashboards (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to support enterprise visibility into performance.
• Train and advise finance peers and business partners on analytical tools and financial modeling techniques.
• Data & Analytics
• Experience working with healthcare data, including Epic (Revenue Cycle, Professional Billing, Hospital Billing, Clarity/Caboodle or similar)
• Ability to compile, integrate, and analyze large datasets from multiple systems
• Strong understanding of relationships between volume, reimbursement, cost, and margin

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in healthcare, accounting, finance or other quantitative/related field. Masters degree preferred.
• 5-10 years healthcare industry experience specifically healthcare delivery finance, cost accounting or medical economics. Must have EXPERT knowledge of healthcare delivery operations and direct analytics experience, including but not limited to: make vs buy analysis, cost to deliver care, population health programs, reimbursement methodologies, payor contracting including incentive strategies and value-based reimbursement. In addition, experience working within an integrated healthcare system is preferred.
• Must demonstrate strong analytical skills/capabilities and communication skills (verbal and written).
• EXPERT knowledge of healthcare industry and healthcare information standards such as ICD9/10, CPT codes, HCPCS codes, MS-DRG, ETGs, RBRVS, and, cost accounting methodologies.
• Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge and/or experience with Microsoft Office products and other analytical tools such as SAS, Business Objects, Tableau, Power BI, Strata, etc. Prior Business Objects, and relational databases. Experience preparing Power Point presentations/ visualization of complex information in a simplified yet powerful manner.
