Job summary

Amazon Books finance team is seeking a senior finance professional to analyze the economics of the books business, translate inputs into accurate financial reporting, and help leadership shape profitable strategies.

You will partner with business teams, deliver controllership with insights, develop scalable analyses, and support publisher negotiations to optimize long-term value while maintaining customer focus.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience.
  • 6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience.
  • 6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field.
  • MBA, or CPA
  • Knowledge of SQL/ETL
  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

Join our Books finance team and become a key player in shaping financial strategy within Amazon's original business line. In this role, you will analyze the underlying economics of the publishing industry, translate inputs to financial reporting, and guide strategic decisions to optimize profitability. Basic Qualifications
  • 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

  • Knowledge of SQL/ETL
  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
