Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Finance Manager to lead automation strategy for Sub Same-Day (SSD) Finance. This role owns the SSD Reporting and Governance committee, drives the end-to-end automation roadmap, and partners with BIE and Global Automation to build in-house tools that replace manual processes at scale.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and financial modeling, with a track record of delivering measurable business impact.

Qualifications

• 5+ years across finance and accounting roles.
• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, tax, economics, or related analytical field.
• 6+ years identifying incomplete or inaccurate data and creating escalation plans.
• 6+ years delivering financial models, analysis and recommendations with measurable impact.
• MBA or CPA preferred.
• Knowledge of SQL/ETL and data mining/reporting tools (SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems like Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards.
• Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis and data interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Own the SSD Finance automation roadmap end-to-end — define strategy, set big rock prioritization, establish success metrics, and drive execution across a 15-month transformation horizon.
• Lead the SSD Reporting and Governance committee; set intake standards, prioritization frameworks, and delivery accountability across 25+ automation and data projects.
• Partner with SSD BIE and Global Automation teams to build and deploy in-house tools — including centralized bridge submission, automated planning templates, and data pipelines that replace manual Excel processes at scale.
• Establish foundational data infrastructure for the SSD Finance org — so all reporting runs from a single source of truth.
• Deploy AI-native planning capabilities: build a centralized context repository feeding Orcha/QuickSight to auto-generate first-draft planning narratives, financial summaries, and variance commentary.

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of multiple finance and accounting roles experience
• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, tax, economics, or a related analytical field

Preferred Qualifications

• 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
• 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
• MBA, or CPA
• Knowledge of SQL/ETL
• Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
• Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
