Job summary

Lithium Americas in Winnemucca, Nevada, seeks a Finance Manager to lead site FP&A, financial reporting, and governance for Thacker Pass operations.

Reporting to the VP of Finance, you will drive budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting, and KPI analysis, partner with site leadership, and build a high‑performing finance team committed to accuracy, compliance, and sustainable value creation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA designation required (U.S. or Canadian).
  • 7+ years of progressive finance experience, including leadership responsibility at a manufacturing, chemical, mining, or industrial operation.
  • Demonstrated experience as a finance leader at an operating site (e.g., plant controller, mine controller, or similar).
  • Strong background in FP&A, cost accounting, operational finance, and financial reporting.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, partner with operational leaders, and drive performance improvement.
  • Deep understanding of SOX internal controls and financial compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all site-level FP&A activities, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and long‑range planning.
  • Oversee accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting to Corporate Finance.
  • Serve as the primary finance business partner to the Site General Manager, providing insights that support operational and strategic decision‑making.
  • Lead and develop the site-based finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure the effectiveness of SOX internal controls and maintain strong financial governance across all site processes.
  • Support cost accounting, inventory management, capital project evaluation, and operational KPI reporting.
  • Coordinate internal and external audit activities and ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies.
  • Builds and maintains trusted relationships across all teams while championing a culture that reflects and supports our Purpose, Vision, and Values.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
