• Excellent oral and written communication skills, with ability to influence senior leaders.

The Opportunity

As the Finance Manager for Abbott’s Westford Manufacturing Operations, you will serve as a key financial partner to the Site Controller and the broader plant management team. In this role, you will lead day-to-day operational finance activities, drive plant-level financial planning, and deliver deep analytics to optimize manufacturing performance. You will actively collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Engineering, and Supply Chain leadership to turn financial insights into measurable productivity improvements and cost savings.

What You’ll Work On

Financial Planning, Analysis & Cost Accounting

• Plan Management: Coordinate, consolidate, and manage the development of site financial plans, including Latest Best Estimates (LBEs), standard cost-setting, and capital expenditure (CapEx) budgets.
• Costing & Standards: Prepare annual cost standards for existing and newly introduced products at the Westford site.
• Performance Measurement: Develop and implement financial and operational measurement tools in partnership with plant operations to drive productivity and customer service improvements.
• Margin Optimization: Facilitate unit cost savings and site-wide cost reduction forums to improve gross margins and rigorously monitor progress against commitments.

Financial Stewardship & Compliance

• Data & Analytics: Gather, analyze, and interpret accounting and operational data to present meaningful variance reporting and actionable recommendations to the Site Controller and plant management.
• Compliance Assurance: Guarantee strict compliance with US GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulations, and all corporate and divisional financial policies.
• Audit Support: Support the Site Controller as a key point of contact for internal/external financial audits and corporate compliance reviews.
• Systems, Data & Process Improvement
• ERP Optimization: Leverage SAP and advanced financial analysis tools to ensure accurate inventory tracking, precise product costing, and streamlined financial reporting.
• Process Excellence: Drive the automation, standardization, and simplification of site finance processes to increase reporting efficiency and maintain data integrity.
• Team Leadership & Collaboration
• Team Development: Supervise, mentor, and develop site finance team members, promoting a culture of accountability and continuous professional growth.
• Cross-Functional Partnership: Build trusted relationships across all levels of plant management (Operations, QA, Supply Chain, Engineering) to foster a culture of shared financial stewardship.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related business field.
• 7+ years of progressive finance or accounting experience, with a heavy emphasis on manufacturing finance and operational cost accounting.
• Robust proficiency with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and advanced financial analysis/modeling tools.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence operational partners and present financial data clearly to senior leaders.
• Results-oriented self-starter with strong business acumen and a continuous improvement mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven supervisory or team management experience.
• Experience working in highly regulated manufacturing environments (e.g., medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or healthcare manufacturing) is strongly preferred.

The base pay for this position is $99,300.00 – $198,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
