Job summary

Avantor in Radnor, PA, seeks a Finance Manager to lead forecasting and financial planning in a fast-paced global team. You will review variances, build models and provide timely insights to drive growth and operating results.

Lead staff, develop the Annual Operating Plan and Quarterly Forecasts, prepare monthly results and ad-hoc reports, and present materials to Senior Leadership. Expertise in MS Office, SAP, QlikView, Tableau/Power BI is required, with strong communication and leadership

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; graduate degree preferred.
  • 6+ years in accounting/finance with focus on finance.
  • Experience in a matrix/global organization.
  • Expert in MS Office and data/BI tools; SAP or ERP experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead forecasting process with team under Finance Director.
  • Review financials, variances, and provide commentary with risks/opportunities.
  • Develop and update financial models for fast-paced environment.
  • Direct staff, ensuring completion of tasks and goals.
  • Develop Annual Operating Plan and Quarterly Forecasts.
  • Prepare monthly results and ad-hoc reports for Senior Leadership.
  • Support policy/procedure development and process improvements.
  • Mentor staff and oversee development plans.

The Finance Manager takes an active role in the forecasting process in collaboration with other members of the team under the supervision of the Finance Director, and a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions to complex business issues. Reviews financials for variances and provides detailed commentary to continuously provide critical information, unbiased facts, risks and opportunities and ownership/championing of action planning to enhance growth and operating results. Directs the activities of staff ensuring completion of tasks and attainment of departmental goals and strives for continuous process improvement though creating and updating financial models to achieve detailed results in a fast-paced environment.

What We’re Looking For
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance; Graduate degree preferred.
  • Experience: 6+ years’ experience within Accounting and Finance with a focus on Finance
  • Experience working in a matrix and global organization.
  • Expert in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams), AFO, QlikView (or other data mining tool), Business Intelligence Tools (Tableau, Power BI, or similar tool) and proficient with SAP or similar ERP system

How You Will Thrive And Create An Impact
  • Take a leadership role in the development of the Annual Operating Plan and Quarterly Forecasts under the guidance of the Team Lead.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial results and ad-hoc reports to identify key trends and drivers of performance.
  • Assist in the creation of financial presentation materials for review by Senior Leadership and Business Partners.
  • Support the resolution of financial questions and issues raised by the Director of Finance or Leadership team.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
  • Analyze data to identify best practices and recommend improvements.
  • Acts as the subject matter expert for financial analysis and reporting.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Oversees staff, provides development plans, and mentorship.
  • Strong interest and proven record of process improvement
  • General interest in accounting principles and the desire to continue learning
