Qualifications

  • Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling, Pivot Tables, Power Query, and data analysis.
  • Experience with budgeting, payroll administration, procurement, fund management, and physician compensation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Healthcare Administration, or related field; 3+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

UCI Department Of Radiological Sciences Financial Analyst

Your Role on the Team

Responsible for performing advanced financial analysis and providing comprehensive fiscal management in support of the Department of Radiological Sciences. Under the general direction of the Finance Manager, the incumbent independently administers and analyzes complex financial activities including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, payroll administration, physician compensation support, procurement, fund management, operational analysis, and compliance. The position serves as a senior financial analyst responsible for developing financial models, preparing executive- level reports, monitoring financial performance, interpreting financial policies, and providing analytical support for departmental leadership. The incumbent exercises independent judgment in resolving complex financial issues, recommending process improvements, and ensuring compliance with University, School of Medicine, and sponsor policies. The position also provides cross-coverage across departmental finance functions to ensure continuity of operations and effective financial stewardship.

What It Takes to be Successful

Required: Advanced knowledge of financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modeling, Pivot Tables, Power Query, and data analysis. Demonstrated ability to prepare executive-level financial reports and communicate financial information effectively. Strong analytical, quantitative, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply financial policies and procedures. Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines. Demonstrated interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments. Experience in higher education, healthcare, or academic medical center finance. Experience with budgeting, payroll administration, procurement, fund management, or physician compensation. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive financial information. Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Healthcare Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Three or more years of progressively responsible experience in financial analysis, preferably in healthcare, physician practice management, or academic medicine.

Preferred: Experience with financial systems such as KFS, UCPath, DSS and other financial reporting or business systems. Experience developing dashboards, automated reports, or business intelligence tools.
