Job summary

Legacy Service Partners is seeking a motivated Finance Intern in Tampa, FL to gain hands-on experience in core finance and accounting functions. You will support the Finance department with AP/AR, month-end close, data entry, and reporting, while learning through practical tasks and team collaboration.

The role offers exposure to budgeting, variance analyses, and system implementations, with opportunities for ongoing training and career growth.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recent graduate in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
• Previous internship or work experience in finance/accounting is a plus but not required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, basic modeling)

Responsibilities

• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing, including invoice review and data entry
• Support month-end close activities, including account reconciliations and journal entry preparation
• Help maintain and update financial records, spreadsheets, and databases with accuracy
• Assist in preparing financial reports, budget summaries, and variance analyses for review
• Support the finance team with data collection, organization, and analysis to inform business decisions
• Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas and feedback
• Assist with expense reporting and reconciliation across departments
• Help research discrepancies and resolve billing or accounting issues, escalating as needed
• Support special projects such as process improvement initiatives or system implementations
• Perform other finance-related duties as assigned to support the overall functioning of the department

Finance Intern Key Responsibilities:

Finance Intern Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field
• Previous internship or work experience in finance/accounting is a plus but not required
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, basic modeling)
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
