Methode Electronics is seeking a highly motivated Finance Intern – FP&A to support our financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and strategic analysis activities.   • Pursuing Bachelor's or Master's in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Analytics.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with ability to interpret data.
  • Understanding of financial statements, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Experience with Excel and data visualization tools is a plus.
  • Experience with AI-powered tools for data analysis is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in financial models, forecasts, budgets, and long-range plans.
  • Support close processes with variance analysis and reporting.
  • Analyze revenue, expenses, profitability and drivers.
  • Prepare management reports, dashboards, and executive summaries.

This internship offers hands-on experience working with financial models, budgeting processes, business performance metrics, and executive-level reporting within a global manufacturing organization. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, intellectually curious, and eager to develop practical finance skills while partnering with business leaders to drive data-informed decision-making. Exposure to advanced analytics and AI-powered tools used in modern financial planning environments will provide valuable experience in improving forecasting accuracy and reporting efficiency.Responsibilities:Assist in the preparation and maintenance of financial models, forecasts, annual budgets, and long-range planning activities.Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes through variance analysis and performance reporting.Analyze financial results, including revenue, operating expenses, profitability, and key business drivers, to identify trends and insights.Prepare management reports, dashboards, presentations, and executive summaries for leadership review.Conduct cost, pricing, margin, and profitability analyses to support business decision-making.Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, Operations, Sales, and other cross-functional teams to gather data and improve financial reporting processes.Research market, industry, and macroeconomic trends to support strategic planning and forecasting initiatives.Utilize data analytics and AI-powered tools to improve reporting efficiency, perform trend analysis, and enhance financial insights.Assist in identifying opportunities to automate financial reporting, streamline workflows, and improve data accuracy.Participate in special projects and ad hoc analyses supporting corporate and business unit objectives.Qualifications:Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics, or a related field.Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial and business data.Understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and corporate finance principles.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and financial modeling techniques.Experience with data visualization, reporting, or business intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar) is a plus.Strong communication, organizational, and presentation skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.High attention to detail, accuracy, and intellectual curiosity.Experience using AI-powered tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude or similar technologies to support data analysis, forecasting, reporting, research, and process optimization is preferred.Demonstrated initiative, willingness to learn, and interest in corporate finance, FP&A, and strategic business decision-making.undefinedNote: Candidates must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States on a permanent basis post-graduation.Work Environment:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
