Job summary

tms invites a Finance Intern to join the North America Client Finance team for hands-on experience with pricing, monthly close, forecasting, profitability reporting, client billing, and trade working capital management.

Under the guidance of team experts, you will help prepare pricing estimates, journal entries, and monthly forecasts, analyze client profitability, and monitor A/R and WIP to support timely invoicing and collections, plus participate in panels and a capstone project.

Qualifications

• Rising Junior, Senior, or Recent Graduate with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a team-oriented mindset.
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• As an intern, assist with pricing estimates, forecasting, and monthly close.
• Support profitability reporting, client billing, A/R, and WIP monitoring to enable timely invoicing.

LIFE OF A TMS SUMMER INTERN

Here at tms, we care about our people, and we want to help foster their skills into the best they can be. The tms Summer Internship Program aims to do just that. Each year, we seek to build an inclusive program that not only offers hands-on experience working with clients and cross-functional teams alike but also promotes numerous networking and relationship building opportunities with industry leaders, mentors, and peers across the business.

INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY

Finance Intern:

The Finance Intern will support tms's North America Client Finance team, gaining hands-on exposure to project pricing, monthly close, forecasting, profitability reporting, client billing, and trade working capital management. Working under the guidance of team subject matter experts, the intern will help prepare pricing estimates, journal entries, and monthly forecasts, analyze client profitability, and monitor A/R and WIP reports to support timely, accurate invoicing and collections.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Rising Junior, Senior, or Recent Graduate
• GPA: 3.0 or higher
• Solutions-oriented with critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Strong interpersonal skills, enjoys building relationships and working with others
• Proficient in MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong time and project management skills, comfortable juggling multiple tasks
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Resourceful and a proactive self-starter
• Power BI experience is a plus

Hourly Rate: $20/hr
