Job summary

The GIANT Company in Carlisle, PA invites students to join its 2027 Summer Internship Program. Over 10 weeks, interns gain real-world finance experience through on-the-job learning, virtual trainings, and leadership engagement in a multi-state grocery retailer.

Job Description

Schedule

The Intern is scheduled to work 40 hours a week. Schedules will vary weekly, based upon business needs. The Internship will begin on June 7th, 2027 and will end on August 13th,2027. Please note this position resides in our brand office in Carlisle Pa (1149 Harrisburg Pike, Carlisle, Pa. 17013) and will require 3 in-person days each week in office.

What are we looking for?

• Students with a minimum GPA of a 3.0
• Students who are at least a sophomore in college

What will you do?

• Work closely with the Finance team with a focus on the core responsibilities of financial management of GIANT retail business operations including:
  • Budgeting and Forecasting of various areas within the profit and loss statement
  • Financial analysis on various projects/initiatives to provide actionable insights and business recommendations
  • Variance and trend analysis and explanation
  • Fiscal period and quarter end reporting and analysis
• Capital Spend and Working Capital Management
• Collaborate cross functionally with each area within the Finance department and the various business partners that Finance works with
• Develop your financial management and analysis skills through hands on learning throughout the internship program
• Participate meaningfully in various activities associated with the internship program

Essential Functions/Physical Requirements

• Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and other software to effectively communicate with others and produce work products as assigned
• Ability to sit, stand, move about, grasp, reach, type, speak, and lift up to 10 lbs. frequently as required by daily work assignments
• Detailed-oriented, strong analytical and problem-solving skills
