Summary

The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst provides financial and accounting guidance to leadership informing fiduciary responsibility, data driven decisions, and proper risk management. The FP&A Analyst will provide and deliver ongoing financial integrity, analysis, and consistency within the Finance functions of the organization. The ideal FP&A Analyst will be tech savvy with sound knowledge of accounting, finance, and budgeting with high proficiency in the use of analytics tools.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Financial Planning
  • Execute on the budget and budget forecast processes, including providing guidance to leadership
  • Consolidate annual budget and quarterly forecasts to inform accountability and stewardship measures
  • Develop and maintain budgeting tools and processes
  • Maintain planning tools and processes, participating in system migrations and enhancements
  • Collaborate with and inform accounting and financial planning team members
Financial Analysis
  • Provide analysis of financial performance (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, Key Performance Indicators, etc.)
  • Direct the preparation and analysis of cash flow forecasts and liquidity scenarios, identifying funding needs, assessing operational and strategic impacts, and delivering actionable recommendations to senior leadership
  • Develop financial programs that provide quantitative and qualitative analysis of key variances and trends
  • Provide support to strategic business opportunities, risks, business models, and pricing decisions; including data analysis and long-range planning for all capital expenditure
  • Prepare financial statements, KPI reporting, operational reports, and variance explanations to inform financial decisions
Forecasting
  • Perform scenario planning to build what-if scenarios to measure risk and test resilience of business decisions
  • Collaborate with Business Analytics and department leaders to align assumptions and track shifting resource needs
  • Leverage technology to enhance reporting and presentations that translate complex numerical findings into actionable business recommendations
  • Create, maintain, and update financial models to simulate various business outcomes
  • Track market trends and build financial models to project revenue, cash flow, and expenses
  • Contribute to the exercise and expression of Christian Care Ministry’s Christian beliefs
  • All other duties as assigned

  • Financial Analysis – excellent ability to examine, interpret, and evaluate financial data to provide insights to organizations fiscal health; including the use of analytics and AI tools (such as Power BI, Tableau, Copilot, Claude, Datarails, etc.)
  • Financial Accounting – ability to apply financial accounting principles, classifying, measuring and recording financial transactions
  • Data Modeling – intermediate skill in collecting, analyzing, modeling, and reporting information and data flow to help make strategic decisions
  • Communication – ability to communicate complex information to diverse audiences in multi-mode formats and influence others to action

Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration required; Master’s Degree strongly preferred
  • 5+ years’ progressive experience in a FP&A role in a similar size or larger organization required; preferably in the healthcare payer and/or financial services industry
