Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. is seeking a Finance Director, T&O FP&A, to drive budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for the Tools & Outdoor business in a hybrid/remote U.S. role. The position partners with operations, controllership, investor relations, and Corporate FP&A to deliver timely, accurate financial insights.

You will lead a high-performing FP&A team, develop strategic analyses, and present complex financial data clearly to senior leaders and the Board.

Qualifications

• BS in Accounting or Finance.
• 10 years of work experience, including minimum 5 years in Finance/FP&A.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with clear communication.
• Experience with process improvements and optimization.
• Self-motivated, high energy, integrity, and leadership ability.
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of Hyperion EPM/HFM; Power BI/Alteryx a plus.

Responsibilities

• Execute budgeting, forecasting, and analysis to support decision-making for T&O FP&A.
• Lead monthly/quarterly close, reporting, and planning cycles with timely insights.
• Prepare and present financial narratives to senior leadership and Board audiences.
• Partner with Operations Finance and other functions to drive performance.
• Develop cross-functional relationships to align forecasts and objectives.

The Job:

As a Finance Director, T&O FP&A, you’ll be part of our Tools & Outdoor team working as a remote/hybrid employee. You’ll get to:

• Responsible for executing key aspects of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis to support strategic decision-making and reporting of financial performance for the T&O business.
• This role requires a strong process, execution, and analytical mindset, exceptional leadership abilities, and a deep understanding of financial principles and best practices.
• The role partners across all functions of the business including operations, controllership, commercial, investor relations and Corporate FP&A.
• Lead monthly and quarterly close, reporting, forecasting, and planning cycles to ensure accurate, timely, and actionable financial insights.
• Oversee the preparation and submission of daily, monthly, and quarterly financial deliverables, including business reviews, forecasts, budgets, management reporting, and board-level materials.
• Develop clear, compelling, and audience-appropriate financial presentations for senior leadership, including executive and Board of Directors audiences.
• Provide strategic leadership to the FP&A function by setting priorities, developing team capabilities, and fostering a high-performance, growth-oriented culture.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance, streamline, and automate financial reporting and planning processes.
• Analyze key areas of regional business performance to identify trends, evaluate KPIs, and deliver insights that support decision-making and operational improvement.
• Deliver cohesive, concise, and accurate financial narratives with strong attention to detail and clear linkage across functions and business priorities.
• Partner closely with Operations Finance to assess macroeconomic trends, business drivers, and forward-looking projections that influence financial performance.
• Build strong cross-functional relationships across regional Commercial FP&A, Brand FP&A, and Operations Finance teams to align forecasts, recommendations, and long-range financial objectives.
• Serve as a key liaison to Corporate FP&A and Investor Relations, responding to financial data requests and supporting enterprise-level reporting needs.

• BS in Accounting or Finance.
• 10 years of work experience, including minimum 5 years in Finance / FP&A roles.
• Strong Analytical Skills, Proven Problem-Solving Skills, Solid Oral and Written Communicator, Strong Interpersonal Skills, Ability to work across all functions, Generate Solutions/Recommendations to issues before topic is presented to management, and excellent computer skills.
• Experience with process improvements and optimization, continuous improvement mindset.
• Self-motivated, high energy, high integrity, driven to excel.
• Experience leading and developing a high functioning team, with ability to convey complex messages in a simple way.
• Highly proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, knowledge of Hyperion EPM and HFM
• AI Tools, Power BI and/or Alteryx experience a plus.

The Salary range for this position is $115,800.00 - $199,800.00
