Job summary

Northshore Utility District in Kenmore, WA seeks a Finance Director to lead the Finance Department and ensure accurate financial reporting, budgeting, and audits. You’ll oversee cash management, accounting and internal controls while partnering with the General Manager and Board.

The ideal candidate has GAAP/GASB expertise, at least ten years of finance management and five years of supervision, plus strong leadership and communication skills. Washington utilities experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience.
• Ten years in finance/ accounting management.
• Five years supervisory experience.
• CPA licensure preferred not required.
• Municipal utility experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct Finance Department operations and reporting.
• Prepare annual budget proposals and financial reports.
• Coordinate audits with the WA State Auditor’s Office.
• Serve as signer on accounts and oversee internal controls.
• Supervise and develop Finance staff and provide training.
• Collaborate with the General Manager and Board on finances.
