Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
• Experience in nonprofit, education, health and human services, or child care organization.
• Demonstrated experience managing payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, and financial reporting.
• Experience coordinating annual audits and preparing supporting schedules and documentation.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, and financial recordkeeping.
• Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.
• Proficiency with accounting software, payroll systems, Microsoft Excel, and other standard office technology.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with administrators, staff, auditors, vendors, and external partners.
• Preferred: CPA or other relevant professional credential.
• Experience with rate-setting submissions, government or agency reporting, or grant accounting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day financial operations and ensure accurate, timely processing of financial transactions.
• Manage payroll processes, including payroll preparation, review, reporting, and coordination with staff and vendors.
• Direct accounts receivable activities, including invoicing, payment tracking, reconciliation, and follow-up on balances.
• Develop, monitor, and maintain organizational and departmental budgets in collaboration with leadership and program administrators.
• Prepare regular financial reports, forecasts, and analyses for leadership and the Board of Directors.
• Coordinate preparation of materials for annual audits and related financial documentation.
• Prepare and submit rate-setting materials and related financial documentation as required.
• Monitor cash flow, revenue, expenditures, and financial performance to support decision-making.
• Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with GAAP and nonprofit requirements.
• Establish and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures.
• Collaborate with program, administrative, and HR staff on financial questions and operations.
• Communicate financial information clearly to stakeholders with varying levels of expertise.
