Job summary

Gallup Community Health is seeking a Finance Director to serve as the senior financial leader, reporting to the Executive Director and partnering with the Board’s Finance Committee. This role drives budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and monthly close, with Board-level reporting.

The position oversees FQHC-specific finance, grants, audits, and revenue-cycle operations while guiding strategic expansion and capital investments for the organization in northwest New Mexico.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA and/or MBA/MHA strongly preferred.
• 3+ years of progressive financial leadership, ideally in a FQHC, community health center, or nonprofit healthcare setting.
• Working knowledge of FQHC reimbursement, federal grant compliance, and nonprofit accounting (GAAP, fund accounting).
• A collaborative communicator who can work with clinicians, Board members, and auditors.

Responsibilities

• Own the full financial picture: budgeting, forecasting, cash management, monthly close, and Board-level reporting.
• Lead FQHC-specific finance—PPS/wrap reconciliation, Medicaid/Medicare cost reports, sliding fee scale, 340B program economics, and payer contracting.
• Manage Section 330 grant budgets, drawdowns, and compliance; support UDS reporting and HRSA site visits.
• Direct the annual audit and Single Audit (Uniform Guidance), and keep us audit-ready year-round.
• Build and mentor the accounting, billing, and revenue cycle team.
• Align financial strategy with service line expansion, capital projects, and grant opportunities.
