Job summary

Mapfre, a leading global insurer, welcomes a dedicated college student to join the Financial Systems Data Integrity team for a 10-week summer internship in Webster, MA. You will help migrate an Access-based process to a modern database and gain exposure to data management and AI tools.

You will work with finance stakeholders, develop SQL queries, validate data, and contribute to process improvements while learning about reporting modernization and database design.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in Bachelor's or Master's program in Accounting, Finance, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Information Systems, CS, MIS or related field.
• Strong SQL skills for querying, analyzing, and validating data.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
• Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
• Effective verbal and written communication and ability to work both independently and in a team.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and document existing business processes currently supported through Microsoft Access databases.
• Assist with data migration and validation during the migration to a modern database platform.
• Develop and execute data validation procedures to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
• Create and optimize SQL queries to support data analysis, reporting, and testing.
• Collaborate with finance stakeholders to identify opportunities for process automation.
• Research and evaluate AI-enabled tools that may improve productivity and analysis.
• Document business requirements, technical specifications, and process workflows.
• Prepare analytical summaries and present findings and progress updates to the team.
