Simple Life seeks an Analytics Engineer to own the finance data domain, bringing data from multiple sources, improving quality, and ensuring reliable financial models. You will collaborate with payment analysts and data engineers to reconcile data, monitor freshness, and address incidents, delivering trusted numbers for reporting and planning.

Qualifications

• Strong Python and SQL experience in a data engineering or analytics engineering role.
• Experience building data models with dbt.
• Commercial experience with real‑world financial or payments data, and comfort designing systems that gracefully handle messy, duplicated, delayed, or inconsistent input.
• Experience owning reconciliation and/or data‑quality processes, including monitoring and incident resolution.
• A strong ownership mindset. You'll set direction, ask good questions, and keep everyone aligned.

Responsibilities

• Care for the finance data domain end to end. You'll be the person the company trusts on finance data;
• Develop, maintain, and improve data products for finance department (reports, alerts, automations, etc) including financial data models in Pigment using Python, Snowflake, Airflow, and dbt;
• Build and run continuous monitoring for data freshness, completeness, quality, and reconciliation breaks; investigate incidents and drive them to resolution;
• Develop LLM agents to accelerate analysis, tooling, documentation, and automation across the finance data stack.
