Job summary

Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking a Controller to lead the accounting functions for our large-scale resort operation. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will oversee daily accounting activities, payroll for 1,000+ associates, and provide insightful financial leadership to resort management.

You'll supervise a Finance team, ensure GAAP compliance, and drive process improvements across reporting, controls, and operations in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• 5–10 years in finance or accounting.
• GAAP knowledge; hospitality accounting preferred.
• Strong financial analysis and reporting skills.
• Experience leading accounting teams.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across teams.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced resort.
• Willingness to work weekends/holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly and annual close, GL, and variance analysis.
• Direct AP/AR, income audit, payroll, and management reporting.
• Maintain GAAP compliance and support audits.
• Oversee payroll for 1,000+ associates.
• Develop and mentor Finance staff.
• Partner with department leaders to drive financial insights.
• Evaluate and implement process improvements.
• Participate in daily Promise and resort leadership activities.
