Job summary

Detroit Red Wings is seeking a seasoned Controller to lead the accounting and finance functions, overseeing monthly closes, forecasting, budgeting, and internal controls. You will manage AP/AR/treasury, coordinate annual budgets, and collaborate with department leaders to drive strategic financial decisions.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting and at least 10 years of experience in a dynamic setting, with strong GAAP knowledge and ERP proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting; minimum 10 years in financial and accounting roles in a dynamic organization.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and financial reporting expertise; experience in sports or live entertainment preferred.
• Proven ability to lead, coordinate budgets, forecasting, and audits with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly close and ensure timely, accurate general ledger reconciliations.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and treasury activities.
• Coordinate annual budgeting and forecasting with department leaders.
• Manage external financial reporting and audit processes with auditors.
• Support league reporting requirements and revenue sharing audits.
• Collaborate with HR for payroll reporting and open position tracking.
• Develop and enforce internal controls and accounting policies.
