Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated and analytically driven Analyst to join the Finance Analytics team at J.Crew Group, supporting our brands: J.Crew, J.Crew Factory, and Madewell. This hybrid role blends strategic financial planning with advanced analytics, offering a unique opportunity to shape data-driven decisions across marketing, store operations, ecommerce, and corporate functions.

Ideal candidates thrive at the intersection of finance, strategy, and data—translating complex datasets into insights that streamline operations, enhance forecasting accuracy, and unlock business growth.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver strategic insights by translating complex datasets into clear, actionable recommendations that support key decisions across business functions.
  • Frame ambiguous business problems, define the real question behind the request, and build a structured plan to answer it.
  • Lead the integration of advanced analytics and AI into financial planning processes to improve decision-making, forecasting accuracy, and performance tracking.
  • Build and manage driver-based financial forecasts, budgets, and models, including scenario analyses, to evaluate initiatives, investments, and operational changes in line with evolving business trends and strategic objectives.
  • Design and maintain comprehensive KPI dashboards that monitor business performance and financial health.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (Marketing, Planning, Merchandising, Real Estate, Store Ops) to align analytical approaches with business priorities.
  • Develop and present compelling, data-backed narratives to stakeholders, including senior leadership, to inform strategic planning and track progress toward KPIs.
  • Drive continuous improvement in data quality, reporting automation, and analytical tools to enhance team efficiency and insight delivery.
  • Foster collaboration across finance, business intelligence, and IT to improve data flows, system integration, and insight-sharing.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in Management Consulting, Strategic Finance, Corporate Strategy, or a related analytics role
  • Proficiency in SQL (advanced preferred); experience with visualization tools like Power BI is a plus
  • Strong financial modeling skills in Excel, including flexible, driver-based models that can be adapted as assumptions change, with a solid grasp of P&L, cash flow, and core financial principles
  • Proven ability to apply AI tools in day-to-day analytical work (e.g., accelerating analysis, automating reporting, pressure-testing assumptions)
  • Self-starter with structured problem-solving skills: able to take an open-ended problem, clarify what is truly being asked, and design an approach to answer it
  • Strong communicator who can turn complex data into clear insights for technical and executive audiences
  • Highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
  • Demonstrated ability to build business partnerships and influence decisions through analytics
  • Health & Well-being - Eligible associates and family members receive medical, dental, prescription and vision insurance, family planning (fertility, adoption & surrogacy support), fitness discounts, medical travel and more.
  • Associate Discount - We love our products just as much as you do! That’s why we offer a great associate discount across all of our brands (J.Crew, J.Crew Factory, and Madewell).
  • Summer Fridays - In addition to our hybrid work model, we also close our office at 1:00 PM every Friday during the Summer months.
  • Community Impact - We support the communities where we live and work through our philanthropic efforts and the J.Crew Cares Program.
  • Winter Break - In addition to our PTO package J.Crew Group offers a winter break at the end of December to eligible full-time associates at the Home Office to provide time to refresh and recharge.
