ELS is hiring for the position of Finance Associate - FP&A in Chicago, Illinois.

What You’ll Do

The Finance Associate – FP&A develops financial plans, reports, analyses, models and business decisions to support the maximization of property value.

Your Job Will Include

• Work alongside senior leadership to develop the FP&A team and create a culture that supports growth.
• Lead departmental meetings and collaboration with other departments.
• Drive innovation and process improvement across the department.
• Provide supervision and guidance to FP&A Analysts as needed.
• Analyze financial operations for a portfolio of regional properties.
• Develop and manage the annual budget for the operations team and act as a liaison between the team and property managers.
• Prepare financial analyses and written explanations of budget recommendations.
• Construct quarterly re-forecasts based on trend analysis, field requests from the operations team and recommend forecast adjustments.
• Run variance analyses to identify key trends and conduct ad hoc reporting to model financial scenarios and interpret findings.
• Perform project-based initiatives to improve process efficiencies and support other departments.

Experience & Skills You Need

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or Accounting.
• 7+ years’ experience in financial analysis, preferably in property management and/or real estate.
• Experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to learn additional systems quickly. Experience with Power BI preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize based on company needs.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure, drive projects to completion and meet deadlines.
• Strong communications and analytical skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Willingness and ability to travel.
