Teamprovide in Colorado is seeking a quality inspector to join the cable and wire harness team. You will inspect, test, and sample assemblies to ensure they meet specifications before shipment.
You’ll collaborate with manufacturing and engineering to resolve quality issues, train new inspectors, and prepare FAI reports. A strong focus on IPC/WHMA standards and precise documentation is required.
The role involves inspecting, testing, and evaluating finished cable and wire harness assemblies to ensure they meet specifications and customer requirements before shipment. The inspector works as part of the quality team and reports to the quality engineering supervisor.
Inspect, test, and sample assembled parts for defects, wear, and deviations from specifications
Perform cable signature testing, continuity testing, and terminal and solder inspection
Run high voltage and ground impedance testing, and create new signature profiles for assemblies
Write first article inspection (FAI) reports and complete RMA evaluations
Evaluate new complex assemblies and develop inspection plans
Calibrate Cirris signature testers, and audit shelf-life, hazcom, and calibration logs
Build and repair simple test fixtures, and keep assembly files and fixture database organized
Complete data entry, inspection logs, and related paperwork
Perform soldering, termination, connector plugging, and heat shrinking following ESD requirements
Partner with manufacturing, engineering, and account management to resolve quality issues and support workflow
Train new inspectors
Interact with customers, suppliers, and third-party testing agencies on quality concerns
Prior quality inspection experience
Knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-610 and 620 (certification preferred)
Ability to read wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and customer assembly drawings
Hands-on experience with multimeters, complex test equipment, force gauges, and calipers
Strong knowledge of components, connectors, terminals, and mating connectors
Sharp eye for discrepancies in drawings and customer requirements, and confidence to raise them
Ability to read, write, and speak English
High school diploma or GED (preferred)
