Job summary

H&H Oil is seeking a Filter Driver to collect and transport used oil filters along a predetermined route. You’ll drive a straight truck, load/unload filters, and maintain accurate records while delivering excellent customer service.

The role emphasizes safety, DOT compliance, and professional appearance, with home nightly, competitive pay, and benefits. Training and route expansion opportunities are included.

Qualifications

• CDL Class B with air brake endorsement required.
• DOT medical card and physical required.
• Must be registered with the Federal Motor Carrier Clearinghouse.
• Must be able to obtain forklift certification.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 2 years of related driving experience.
• Strong background in commercial driving with knowledge of DOT rules and regulations.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• A good driving record is required.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions.
• Ability to read/write/speak English fluently.
• Must complete required DOT paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Operate company trucks for pickup, delivery, and transportation of used oil filters.
• Load and unload used oil filters from customer and company locations.
• Complete manifests, Bills of Lading, and e-logs accurately.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment.

• Maintain regular communication with the office and supervisor via mobile.
• Crosstrain as a used oil route driver if required.
• Operate Fork Lift or lift equipment as needed.

Position Summary:

The Filter Driver will be responsible for performing a variety of routine and complex transportation tasks related to the collection and transportation of used oil filters in support of the Operations Department. The role involves driving a straight truck on a predetermined route, stopping at various customer sites to collect used oil filters.

Key responsibilities include hauling, loading, and unloading used oil filters while maintaining accurate records and providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities & Essential Job Functions:

• Operate company trucks for the pickup, delivery, and transportation of used oil filters.
• Load and unload used oil filters from customer and company locations using a straight truck.
• Complete all required documentation accurately, including manifests, Bills of lading, and e-logs.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment; report any defects or needed repairs to supervisor.
• Provide outstanding customer service during delivery and pickup operations.
• Actively seek new customers and assist in route expansion.
• Adhere to all personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements set by the company.
• Demonstrate knowledge of industry-standard safety, health, and environmental practices, including compliance with DOT rules and regulations.
• Maintain all required certifications as required by DOT, OSHA, and company safety programs.
• Keep company property clean and in good condition.
• Perform duties in compliance with company policies and standard operating procedures.
• Undergo periodic industrial safety training as mandated by regulatory authorities and the company.
• Maintain regular communication with the office and supervisor via mobile communication.
• Crosstrain as a used oil route driver, if required.
• Operate Fork Lift or lift equipment as needed.
• Warehouse and facility housekeeping responsibilities as needed or assigned.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications:

• Class B CDL and air brake endorsement required.

• Must be able to obtain certification to operate Fork Lift or other life equpment.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 2 years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong background in commercial driving, with knowledge of DOT rules and regulations.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• A good driving record is required.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting safety rules, operating manuals, and procedure documents.
• Ability to complete the required DOT paperwork.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
