Job summary

Rust-Oleum Corporation is hiring for a Filling Line Operator to operate, set up, adjust, and perform QC checks while tending to machines and hand-fills to package paint safely and efficiently.

You will read BOMs, prepare components, determine material needs, and assist with QC processes, following order specs and maintaining clean, safe work areas. The role is an in-person, full-time position with a Monday–Friday shift.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and understand instructions, BOMs and other shipping and production documents.
• Basic math skills.
• Accurate data entry and retrieval.
• Ability to operate machinery.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Willing to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate filling line machinery and packaging equipment per production schedule and line changeovers.
• Perform in-process quality checks on cans, boxes and containers.
• Verify weights and labels/SKUs are correct and recorded accurately.
• Review job orders for quantities, times, BOMs and SKU sequences.
• Operate equipment at efficient speeds to meet output targets.
• Maintain 5S housekeeping and assist in monthly stock inventory.
• Communicate spills or hazards to shift supervisor to keep area safe.

In addition, the Filling Line Operator is responsible for reading and following the bill of materials, preparing components, following order specifications to determine material and equipment requirements, and assisting with the QC process.

In addition, the Filling Line Operator is responsible for reading and following the bill of materials, preparing components, following order specifications to determine material and equipment requirements, and assisting with the QC process.

Here’s What You Can Expect Every Day

• Perform all filling line machine operation functions related to the filling and packaging of all finished products, including setting up and operating filling line equipment, adhering to production schedule, making equipment adjustments and assisting with line changeover.
• Maintain quality standards by completing in-process inspection of cans, boxes and other containers.
• Certify that product weights are measured and recorded correctly; checking to make sure package labels and SKUs are correct.
• Examine job orders to determine details such as quantities to be filled, production times, stock specifications, BOM's, and SKU sequences.
• Operate equipment at most efficient speed to ensure proper quantity and output.
• Housekeeping – maintain work area to 5S procedures, trash removal, clean work area and assist in monthly inventory of raw and stock materials as needed.
• Ensure work area is safe, clean and free of recognizable hazards, communicating all spills or other hazards to the shift supervisor.

Required Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read and understand instructions, bills of lading and other shipping and production documents
• Ability to complete basic math problems
• Ability to accurately enter and retrieve computer data
• Ability to operate machinery
• Ability to solve problems in a team environment and actively participate in the Rust-Oleum Corporation QIO program
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Willing to work overtime as needed

Job Type: Full Time

Pay Range: $18.00 - $21.00/hour; bonus eligible

Shift: Monday - Friday
