Job summary

Dairy Farmers of America is seeking a production operator in Schulenburg, Texas. You will operate filling and capping lines, verify codes, run CIP sanitation, and maintain GMPs in a team-based setting.

The role requires attention to detail, ability to follow procedures, and willingness to obtain a forklift license within 30 days. Shift: Mon-Fri 8:00PM–4:00AM with potential Saturday work; starting pay $18.50/hour, rise to $23.66 at 90 days.

Qualifications

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
• Clear written and verbal communication in English.
• Must obtain forklift license within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Adjusts Filling machine with proper fill weight for product.
• Reports quality and operational issues to management and submits work orders.
• Checks accuracy of container coding for product being filled.
• Completes all required paperwork accurately and legibly.
• Monitors chart recorders and makes adjustments when necessary.
• Performs metal detector verification tests.
• Ensures fill detection equipment is functioning prior to startup and tests regularly during a production run.
• Assists Check Weight Operator to supply capper.
• Isolates product that deviates from standards and reports to management.
• Monitors Rinser temperature, spray pattern, and clears jams.
• Follows filed operating process at all times.
• Utilizes scanners to make SAP transactions for inventory levels and product traceability.
• Obtains all necessary samples of product in a timely manner.
• Performs CIP/COP sanitizing utilizing procedures and methods.
• Handles cleaning chemicals safely with PPE.
• Examines final package for defects (glass, cap, code).
• Follows GMPs and sanitation requirements.
• Performs items on Master Sanitation lists when production is not running.
• Maintains sanitary equipment conditions during production.
• Maintains a safe environment and performs other duties safely.
• Team-based collaboration and positive contribution to team efforts.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Shift Schedule - Mon-Fri 8:00PM to 4:00AM.
• Possible Saturdays based on demand.
• $18.50 starting pay / increase to $23.66 @ 90 days.
• Shift differential $0.50/hour for late shifts.

• Examines final package for any defects, i.e. glass, cap, code, etc.
• Follows all DFA Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate, regulatory quality, and sanitation requirements.
• Performs items on Master Sanitation lists when production is not running.
• Maintain sanitary equipment conditions during production.
• Maintain safe environment and perform other duties in a safe manner at all times.
• Ability to function in a team based structure and positively contributes to team based efforts.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Shift Schedule - Monday - Friday 8:00PM to 4:00AM
• Possible Saturdays based on Demand
• $18.50 Starting Pay / Increase to $23.66 @ 90 Days
• Shift Differential Paid at $.50/per hour with shifts starting at 2pm or Later

• Able to effectively communicate in writing & speech (English)
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.Must be able to attain a Forklift Operator License within 30 days of hiring.
