Job summary

Saputo Cheese USA Inc. is seeking a hands-on production operator for a 24/7 facility in the United States. You will operate gable-top carton filling and packaging equipment, follow SOPs, collect samples, and perform QA checks to ensure product integrity.

The role requires lift truck certification or the ability to obtain one, strong math and computer skills (SAP a plus), and the flexibility to work rotating shifts with safety and GMP compliance as top priorities.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Safe and efficient operation of production equipment as listed for gable-top carton filling and packaging.
• Follow SOPs in detail without deviation.
• Collect routine product samples and perform seal integrity testing for QA.
• Set up and use gable-top cartons per production run schedule.
• Set up packaging coders and validate product codes.
• Identify and communicate out-of-spec conditions.
• Perform routine equipment adjustments and safe lift truck operation.
• Accurately complete production records and documents.
• Perform changeovers, CIP/SIP, clean-up and setup.
• Ensure environmental controls and reclaim operations per guidelines.
• Support internal and external audits and safety procedures.
• Cross-train with other departments and maintain housekeeping.

Pay Range: $26.95 - $27.45

How you will make contributions that matter...

• Safe and efficient operation of production equipment to include: Gable-top carton filling and packaging equipment.
• Ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOP's) in detail without deviation.
• Collect routine product samples and perform routine seal integrity testing to inspect the carton for leaks, tears and perform dye inspections for quality assurance.
• Set-up and use the appropriate gable-top cartons in accordance with the production run schedule.
• Set-up packaging coders, validate product codes in accordance with code specifications.
• Identify and effectively communicate any out-of-specification product conditions.
• Follow the established notification protocol.
• Perform routine equipment adjustments.
• Safe operation of a lift truck.
• Accurately and neatly complete production records and documents.
• Perform equipment change-overs, CIP/SIP, clean-up and equipment set-up.
• Perform environmental controls.
• Perform product reclaim and rework operations in accordance with reclaim guidelines.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Follow all established occupational health and safety procedures.
• Follow all established GMP's and Food Safety requirements.
• Cross-train with other departments.
• Perform good housekeeping within established housekeeping guidelines.
• Comply with federal, state and local dairy food regulations.
• Adhere to the Saputo Code of Ethics, actively apply the Saputo Company Values.
• Work together with co-workers and other department personnel.
• Other duties as required by management.

You are best suited for the role if you...

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• An working understanding of food manufacturing acronyms (SQF, QA/QC, CQP, HACCP, SOP,5S, GMP, etc.).
• Lift truck certification or the ability to obtain a lift truck certification (Powered Industrial Truck).
• Strong math skills.
• Proficient computer skills, software and data entry, SAP a plus.
• Strong technical skills, ability to operate and understand equipment controls, touch panels and mechanical operations.
• Successful completion of drug screen and background check.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated work history.
• Good attendance is a must.
• Ability to work in manufacturing environment which includes but not limited to: noise, changing temperatures (hot, wet, cold, humid), standing/walking/bending/stooping/climbing stairs, maneuvering around manufacturing equipment consistently throughout the shift.
• Visual acuity with the ability to see color.
• Working with chemicals, wearing personal protective equipment and following approved chemical handling procedures.
• Physical lifting up to 40-lbs frequently throughout the shift.
• Shift flexibility.
• This is a hands-on role for a 24/7 manufacturing facility. Our equipment operators are assigned to a team on a Rotating or 3-shift, 24/7 operation to support manufacturing. This can either be rotating AM/PM, days, swing or night shift and weekends. Work days and shifts may change to help cover vacations/absences, during plant downtime or related events such as audits.

12-Hour Rotating Shift Schedule

This position follows a compressed workweek with alternating 3-day and 4-day workweeks, offering employees extended time off while supporting our 24/7 manufacturing operation.

Shift Premium:Employees assigned to B Shift receive an additional $1.50 per hour night shift premium.
