Job description

  • Approach work with a Continuous Improvement (CI) mindset by actively supporting Model Dairy’s Mission Statement, identifying opportunities to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and workflow, and helping sustain improvements through consistent execution.
  • Maintain product standards in accordance with PMO, SQF, and HACCP requirements by understanding and following Critical Control Points (CCP) and Quality Control Points (QCP) to ensure product safety, quality, and regulatory compliance throughout the production process.
  • Own and promote a strong Safety Culture by maintaining a safe work environment, following established safety procedures, using proper protective equipment, identifying potential hazards, and always demonstrating safe work behaviors.
  • Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality to support production schedules, staffing needs, and consistent department performance.
  • Maintain product quality standards by following good manufacturing practices, monitoring packaging conditions, and ensuring all products meet company and regulatory expectations throughout the production process.
  • Operate equipment as efficiently as possible while meeting company standards for productivity, minimizing downtime, and supporting smooth production flow.
  • Verify proper product weights, code dates, order quantities, top and bottom leak detection checks, and gable seal integrity to ensure all bottled products meet quality and packaging requirements.
  • Taste each product prior to beginning the production run to confirm good, clean flavor and help ensure product quality before bottling begins.
  • Sanitize filler equipment every 30 minutes, or as required, to maintain food safety, sanitation standards, and product integrity during production.
  • Check the butterfat level of all white milk products prior to the production run to confirm the product meets required specifications.
  • Maintain accurate production records, including run time, product weights, downtime, temperatures, and packaging material waste, to support traceability, reporting, and operational accountability.
  • Maintain professional appearance standards, including appropriate dress, hygiene, and personal presentation consistent with company and food safety expectations.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned to support departmental needs and overall plant operations.

Minimum:

  • High school diploma or GED required, demonstrating the basic education and foundational skills needed to understand instructions, complete documentation, and perform job responsibilities effectively.
  • Previous knowledge of basic equipment operations, including the ability to safely operate, monitor, and identify routine issues with production equipment in a manufacturing or plant environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment, solve problems, make appropriate decisions, and maintain organized, accurate records to support production, quality, and compliance requirements.
