Job summary

Cold Spring Brewing is seeking a Night Shift Lead to supervise filler operators and coordinate breaks in a fast-paced plant.

You will train operators on SOPs, drive onboarding, ensure sanitation schedules, complete hourly documentation, and uphold GMP and Food Safety while working a 12-hour night shift with a 2-2-3 cycle and a $2 night differential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and interpret in English.
  • Strong mechanical background with troubleshooting ability.

Responsibilities

  • Lead filler operators and coordinate breaks.
  • Train operators on SOPs and ensure adherence.
  • Drive onboarding and change adoption for processes and equipment.
  • Train operators on sanitation and monitor sanitation schedules.
  • Lead 30/60/90-day training for new operators.
  • Oversee equipment inspections and maintenance checks.
  • Ensure documentation is completed hourly.
  • Assist in housekeeping as required.
  • Monitor lids placement and CO2 levels at filler and batching.
  • Perform duties as assigned by supervisor/customer.
  • Adhere to GMP and quality production and food safety.

Status: Full Time Night Shift

Hours: 12-hour shift - 6p-6a

Schedule: 2-2-3 rotating shifts (work 15 days a month!)

[Plus, a $2.00 night shift differential, if applicable]

Summary

Leads the filler operators on their team, drives training and coordinates breaks in the filler areas

What You Will Be Doing
  • Ensure that filler operators are properly trained and follow all SOP's
  • Strive to achieve quick adoption of change and ensure efficient understanding and training in order to achieve organizational proficiency to handle new initiatives and projects.
  • Attends training on new processes and equipment. This may include self study.
  • Trains filler operators on all types of sanitations and monitors sanitation schedule
  • Drives 30/60/90-day training with new operators
  • Drives required equipment and maintenance checks.
  • Make sure appropriate documentation is completed every hour.
  • Assists in the Housekeeping area as required.
  • Observes that proper lids are in place, taking appropriate action when needed.
  • Observes proper levels of CO2 at the filler and in batching.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned or required by the supervisor/customer.
  • Adhere to and comply with Good Manufacturing Practices as outlined in Employee Handbook.
  • Adhere to and comply with quality production and Food Safety.
What You Need to Bring

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to read and interpret in English.
  • Have a strong mechanical background and ability to troubleshoot

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with SAP or other inventory management systems
  • Experience with GMP and/or HACCP regulations
  • Previous lead experience
  • 2-3 years' experience in a high-speed Production environment
  • Knowledge working in Outlook, Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and use of customer portals
Job Setting

This role is based in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Employees will experience varying physical demands throughout the day, including standing for extended periods, walking on occasionally slippery floors, and handling equipment or materials.

Due to the nature of the facility, temperatures may fluctuate based on outside weather conditions including heat and cold.

The work environment can be loud, and hearing protection (ear plugs) is required. Additionally, to ensure safety and hygiene, employees must wear hairnets and refrain from wearing jewelry while on the production floor.

Alcohol is an ingredient in products we produce. We are unable to guarantee specific positions, work schedules or work environments that do not include working around alcohol.

Physical Requirements
  • Regular bending, stooping and lifting up to 50lbs regularly.
  • Extended standing on hard surfaces.
  • Will work around noise, dust, variable temperatures and use of production chemicals
  • Vision required: distance, close, color, peripheral and depth perception
  • Frequently required to stand, talk or hear, use hands, feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to sit, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.
  • Works in a production and warehouse environment, including forklifts, equipment, and damp floors
  • Frequently exposed to working near mechanical parts and exposed to vibration.
