Job summary

Meritus Texas in Tyler, TX is hiring a Fill Plant Operator to support our industrial gas operations. You will learn and perform cylinder filling, testing, and preparation tasks, with paid training and safety protocols in place.

Qualifications

• Prepares cylinders for filling and tests as required.
• Maintains quality control documentation per DOT/OSHA standards.
• Move cylinders and pallets using forklift; other duties as assigned.

Meritus Texas, a leading supplier of full-range industrial gases, is seeking a Fill Plant Operator to join our team in Tyler, TX.

If you have a high school diploma or equivalent, and experience working in a plant environment, Meritus Texas wants to hear from you! Experience in a fill plant is preferred but not required. Meritus Texas is happy to train you!

Minimum qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• We will provide training but prefer at least one year of experience in a fill plant
• Forklift experience
• Ability to read Safety Data Sheets
• Solid math skills; add, subtract, multiply, divide and computes ratios and percentages.
• Ability to manipulate cylinders weighing up to 100 lbs.

Essential duties/responsibilities:

• Fills cylinders including high pressure cylinders, according to Standard Operating Procedures
• Prepares cylinders for filling by confirming in test date, replaces shoulder labels and performs ring and odor tests. Determines whether retesting and/or repairs are required.
• Completes and maintains quality control documentation as per DOT, FDA, OSHA and Meritus Texas standards.
• Put away stock.
• Cylinder repair, paint and re-valving of cylinders,
• Fills Liquid Propane Cylinders as needed.
• Utilize forklift to move cylinders, pallets, and other large materials.
• Other duties as assigned.
