Sidney Lee Welding Supply Inc. is seeking a Fill Plant Associate to support daily operations in our cylinder fill plant. The role involves filling, handling, and preparing compressed gas cylinders for distribution to branches and customers.

You will work under the Fill Plant Manager with a focus on safety, accuracy, and efficiency. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and prior experience in a warehouse or industrial setting.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Prior experience in a warehouse, plant, manufacturing, or industrial setting preferred.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn cylinder filling procedures.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Forklift experience preferred; certification training available.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy cylinders (up to 100+ lbs) regularly.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily cylinder filling operations under the direction of the Fill Plant Manager.
  • Inspect cylinders for damage, proper labeling, and compliance prior to filling.
  • Sort, stage, and prepare cylinders for filling and outbound distribution.
  • Load and unload cylinders using a forklift or cylinder cart.
  • Maintain accurate inventory counts and assist with cycle counts.
  • Keep the plant clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
  • Follow all OSHA, DOT, FDA, and company safety procedures at all times.
  • Report equipment issues, safety concerns, or inventory discrepancies to the Fill Plant Manager.
  • Assist with receiving incoming cylinder shipments and verifying quantities.
  • Support distribution efforts by helping coordinate outbound orders to branches and customers.

About The Role

The Fill Plant Associate works directly under the Fill Plant Manager to support the safe and efficient daily operations of our cylinder fill plant. This is a hands-on production role responsible for filling, handling, and preparing compressed gas cylinders for distribution to branch locations and customers. This position is ideal for a dependable, safety-conscious individual who takes pride in their work and wants to build a career in the industrial gas industry.

Schedule

This position operates on a shift schedule:

  • Shift 1: 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Shift 2: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Applicants must be available for either shift. Shift assignment will be determined upon hire.

Work Environment
  • Industrial warehouse and fill plant setting.
  • Frequent handling of compressed gas cylinders.
  • Both indoor and outdoor work areas.
  • Exposure to varying temperatures and plant noise levels.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) required and provided.
