Job summary

Iowa Department of Natural Resources is seeking multiple Wildlife Management temporary staff across several units in Iowa. The roles involve habitat and wildlife work, including prescribed fire, surveys, and area maintenance. Training provided, and work may require physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions.

Positions are temporary with a $15.25 per hour wage. Evening, weekend, and holidays may be required; application materials due by the stated deadline.

Qualifications

• Education: Wildlife Ecology/Biology or closely related natural resources field.
• 18 years of age and valid driver's license.
• Able to work alone, with teammates, and with the public in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Habitat management including wetlands, prairie and woodland management, native seeding, food plots, and tree/brush removal.
• Prescribed fire assistance including fire-line construction and mop-up.
• Wildlife surveys such as waterfowl banding, deer spotlight routes, roadside surveys, and disease sampling.
• Area maintenance: mowing, sign posting, fence work, weed control with power tools.
