Job summary

Prince Service & Mfg in Macon, GA, is seeking skilled pipe welders and millwrights for 1st shift. The role requires blueprint reading, mechanical troubleshooting, and the ability to perform preventative maintenance on complex equipment.

Qualifications

• Must read blueprints and schematics to determine dimensions and tolerances.
• Experience with preventative maintenance on engines, motors and conveyors is a plus.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns and fabricate parts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain machinery and production equipment following manuals and specs.
• Locate causes of problems by observing equipment in operation and using measuring tools.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems; fabricate parts for repairs.
• Perform routine maintenance, safety checks, and inventory control.

Location/Schedule:

Macon, GA / 1st shift

What You’ll Do:

• Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
• Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns and adjusting mechanical parts using hand and machine tools.
• Fabricating parts for repairs and machine upgrades.
• Conducting routine maintenance and safety checks.
• Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts.
• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools.
• Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
• Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
• Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies, as needed, to accomplish job results.
• Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
• Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks.
• Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
• Preparing and submitting maintenance reports.

Who You Are:

• Pipe Welder or Millwright experience.
• Must be able to read blueprints.
• Must pass a background check and drug screen.
• Must have clean MVR with a valid GA driver’s license.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and good time-management skills.
• Technical School is a plus, but not required.
• Exposure to prolonged periods of sitting and standing.
• May be required to handle items that weigh in excess of 50 pounds.
