Job summary

Kestra Medical Technologies Inc. seeks an ASSURE Patient Specialist (APS) in Flint, MI to fit and train patients with a wearable defibrillator.

You will work as a contractor, travel to hospitals and patients' homes, measure garments, and ensure proper documentation and secure handling of patient information. The role requires clinical or engineering background, 1 year of paid patient care experience, and willingness to travel and coordinate with prescribers and caregivers.

Qualifications

  • 1 year in a paid patient care experience (not as a family caregiver).
  • Clinical or engineering background (nurses, cardiac device sales reps, clinical engineers, cath lab techs, physician assistants, or ECG technicians).
  • Disclosure of personal NPI number (if applicable).
  • Completion of background check. Florida and Ohio must complete a level 2 screening paid for by Kestra.
  • Willingness to pay an annual DME fee deducted from completed work orders.
  • Ability to pay for vendor credentialing upfront during a 90-day probationary period.
  • Experience in patient and/or clinician education.
  • Valid driver's license in state of residence with a good driving record.
  • Ability to consistently work in the field in and around the region. Disclosures required for potential relationships and referral sources.
  • Must be able to achieve credentialing for hospital system entry including vaccination/immunization documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a contractor ASSURE Patient Specialist (APS) to fit and train local patients with a wearable defibrillator via training assignments from corporate. Certified as an ASSURE Patient Specialist by Kestra.
  • Provide instruction and instill confidence in ASSURE patients with patient care skills.
  • Contact prescribers, caregivers, and patients to schedule services.
  • Accept assignments including daytime, evening, and weekend hours.
  • Travel to hospitals, patients' homes and healthcare facilities to provide fitting services.
  • Measure patients to determine garment size.
  • Review and transmit essential paperwork to receive the ASSURE garment and services.
  • Manage inventory of ASSURE system kits, garments, and equipment used in fittings.
  • Adhere to confidentiality pledges.
  • Internal information sharing only with authorized personnel.
