Job summary

Mid-Atlantic Trane is hiring a Ductless Technical Specialist to join the team. You will work closely with contractor customers and internal fulfillment to ensure proper installation and startup of Trane VRF and Ductless products.

The role requires strong HVAC experience, travel across assigned territory, and the ability to train customers and staff on installation, troubleshooting, and warranty processes. This is a field-support position with occasional overnight travel.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of HVAC installation, service and/or troubleshooting.
• VRF Experience is preferred, but not required.
• Working knowledge of construction: mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems preferred.
• Must be able to travel throughout assigned territory.
• Public speaking and presenting experience required.
• Field support role with daily travel and overnight travel as needed.
• Valid driver’s license for at least 12 months with clean record in last 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Participate in VRF/Ductless post sales product success.
• Monitor and measure process to meet customer needs for post sales ductless activity including startup.
• Maintain customer satisfaction by investigating concerns and advising corrective action.
• Provide commercial and high-level technical product sales training to area office personnel and customers as required.
• Conduct field training for customers in installation and troubleshooting of VRF and Ductless products.
• Ability to troubleshoot VRF and Ductless products.
• Assist customers in startup and commissioning of VRF and ductless products.
• Build consultative relationships with owners and contracting customers.
• Support area office performance by coaching sales personnel in VRF product sales, application, and customer support.
• Administration of warranty process and post sales activity for ductless business.
• Participate in METUS DSG program as a representative for your area/region.
• Work with submittals and equipment selections to support internal and external processes.
• Proactively communicate with stakeholders while working on projects and provide detailed reports.
• Engage and build relationships with METUS and Trane resources.
• May be required to become a certified technical trainer.

• Support area office performance by coaching sales personnel in competent VRF product sales, application, and customer support.
• Administration of warranty process and all post sales activity for ductless business.
• Participate in the METUS DSG program as a representative for your area/region.
• Work with submittals and equipment selections to support internal and external business processes
• Proactively communicate with all stakeholders while working with various projects and provide detailed reports
• Engage and build relationships with various resources throughout METUS and Trane
• May be required to become a certified technical trainer

What will you bring?

• Minimum of 5 years of HVAC installation, service and/or troubleshooting
• VRF Experience is preferred, but not an absolute requirement
• Working knowledge of all facets of construction including mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems, etc. preferred.
• Must be able to travel throughout assigned territory
• Great public speaking and presenting experience is required
• This is primarily a field support role, with daily travel is required. Overnight travel to meet the business needs.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations including, but not limited to: DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless / Carless Driving, or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.
