Job summary

ICE is seeking Transportation Construction Inspectors to support GDOT and SCDOT projects along the Georgia and South Carolina coast. The role involves field inspections of roadways, bridges, drainage, and utilities, with documentation, testing, and coordination with project teams.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, preferred Civil Engineering degree, and DOT inspection experience. Training, certifications, mentorship, and career advancement opportunities are provided by ICE.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering preferred.
• GDOT and/or SCDOT inspection experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Strong math, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to work in field environments.

Responsibilities

• Observe and document daily construction activities.
• Inspect roadway, bridge, drainage, and utility work.
• Verify compliance with plans, specifications, and safety requirements.
• Sample and test construction materials.
• Measure quantities and maintain project records.
• Review contractor submittals and report non-compliance issues.
• Complete daily reports and project documentation.
