Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing, a leader in transportation solutions, is seeking an Equipment Repair Technician (SETS) to perform inspections, preventative maintenance and light repairs on shop equipment and tools. The role involves driving a SETS truck, coordinating with technicians and supervisors, and reporting outcomes and inventory needs while supporting process improvements.

Qualifications

• 0-3 years as automotive/heavy-duty tech with diagnostics and repair experience preferred.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• ALI Inspection Certification preferred.
• CDI Torque Wrench Certification Training preferred.
• ASE Certifications preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associates or Tech School Degree preferred.
• Excellent organization, customer service and communication skills.
• Experience using tools of the trade (including computers, tablets, handheld devices, power tools and diagnostic equipment).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and web-based applications (Outlook, Teams, Smartsheet, Salesforce).
• Regular, predictable, full-time attendance is essential.
• Willingness to travel within the geographical area; pass background checks and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Perform SETS Inspection and Light Repair Procedures.
• Collaborate with location staff and SETS team to schedule visits.
• Communicate repair or replacement recommendations based on inspection results.
• Keep SETS truck organized and clean.
• Communicate inventory needs for tools, parts and garage supplies.
• Identify areas of SETS process improvement.
• Assist with training of inspection and repair process for new associates.
• Other duties as required by supervisor.
