Job summary

Power Engineering Services is seeking Assistant Testing Technicians (NETA 2) to join our teams in TX markets. You will perform acceptance and maintenance testing on electrical power systems under supervision, building hands-on expertise toward Level 3 certification and eventual technician-in-charge responsibility.

The role requires 2+ years in electrical testing and a relevant technical degree; NETA 2 certification or progress toward it is expected within 6 months.

Qualifications

• NETA Level 2 Certification required or able to sit for the exam within 6 months of hire.
• 2+ years of hands-on electrical testing, commissioning, or field service on medium- or high-voltage equipment.
• Associate degree or technical/trade school certificate preferred; Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance and maintenance testing on power systems and equipment (switchgear, transformers, relays, circuit breakers).
• Set up, calibrate, and operate electrical test equipment; verify results and identify readings outside expected values.
• Record data and draft field test reports for review by a certified technician or engineer.
• Follow NETA standards, NFPA 70E, and company safety protocols on every job site.
