Job summary

Global Business Ser. 4u is seeking a Software Test Engineer for a 2-year contract in Oakbrook, IL (Goodfield, IL). You will analyze software and system requirements and design test cases for vehicle and bench testing.

Responsibilities include writing/executing tests (manual and automated), creating Python scripts, compiling test results, and reporting progress according to release schedules. Ensure traceability from requirements to test outcomes.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Agricultural preferred; Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or CS acceptable.
• Experience with agriculture equipment/machines and operations (seed sensing, path planning, seeding heatmaps).
• Ability to read and interpret requirements to develop test cases and scripts.
• Understanding of verification/validation concepts: functional, performance, regression, boundary, positive/negative, code coverage.
• Knowledge of CAN Communication, J1939 and ISOBUS.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Job Description

• Analyze software and systems requirements
• Independently write, execute, and maintain test cases for vehicle system testing and software bench level testing. This may include new test documentation as well as support, maintenance, or enhancement of existing test documentation
• Execute tests on vehicle level and software bench level. This includes operation of agriculture machinery. This includes testing the display and machine ECU functionality, focusing on CAN bus functionality between the display and machine ECU and Autoguidence features.
• Testing will be a mix of manual and automated.
• Create test scripts in python where appropriate for bench level software testing.
• Create test results reports
• Report test progress according to software release schedules
• Analyze test result to determine future test coverage improvements
• Ensure traceability of test causes to requirements

Required Qualifications

• BS/MS in Agricultural is most preferred. Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science also acceptable
• Experience with agriculture equipment/machines and agriculture operations. Example:

• Ability to work well with others in a team environment
• Strong trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills
• Good oral and written communication skills with the ability to professionally support periodic communication to management and technical teams is required.
