Job summary

Qualifications

• Strong diesel engine diagnostic experience including electrical and aftertreatment systems.
• Proficiency with diagnostic software and ability to interpret wiring schematics.
• Experience with DTCs, ECMs and electronic control systems.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex diesel engine and electrical system issues.
• Provide technical support and problem resolution for field teams, channel partners, and customers.
• Perform electrical diagnostics, including voltage, continuity, load, and ground circuit testing.
• Troubleshoot wiring harnesses, sensors, ECMs, and engine control systems.
• Analyze diagnostic data and collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve product issues.
• Develop technical solutions and support documentation for recurring issues.
• Support prototype and production-intent updates in the field.
• Travel within the U.S. and Canada as needed (approximately 10-20%).

Duration: 12 months

W2 Contract (No C2C)

Pay rate: $45 per hour

Position Summary

We are seeking a Field Service Diagnostic Technician to provide advanced technical support for diesel engines, electrification systems, batteries, and prototype test equipment. This role focuses on diagnosing and resolving complex engine and electrical issues for field teams, dealers, channel partners, and customers. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with diesel engine diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, DTC analysis, ECMs, aftertreatment systems, and electronic control systems.

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree in Diesel Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Strong diesel engine diagnostic experience, including electrical and aftertreatment systems.
• Proven electrical troubleshooting skills and ability to interpret wiring schematics.
• Experience working with DTCs, ECMs, diagnostic software, and electronic control systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Teams and ability to learn proprietary diagnostic tools and applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting agricultural, construction, mining, power generation, heavy truck, or industrial equipment.
• OEM, dealer, or field service technician experience.
• Knowledge of Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) systems, electrification technologies, and high-voltage systems.
• Recent Ag Tech, Diesel Tech, or Electrical Technology graduates with strong diagnostic training will also be considered.

Ideal Candidate

A dealership, OEM, or field-service level diesel and electrical diagnostic technician with strong troubleshooting skills, experience working with engine control systems and electronic diagnostics, and the ability to independently resolve complex technical issues. This is not a routine maintenance or preventive maintenance position.
