Job summary

Actalent is hiring a Field Test Engineer to perform field validation of agricultural and crop harvesting equipment under actual and simulated operating conditions in New Holland, PA. The role requires executing validation plans, collecting data with instrumentation, and reporting results to support root-cause investigations.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s in a technical field or related experience, with knowledge of vehicle systems, data acquisition, and remote work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field; candidates without a degree will be reviewed.
• Basic knowledge of vehicle systems (powertrain, hydraulics, electronics, or embedded software) and data acquisition/measurement methods.
• Preferred familiarity with CAN bus, Python, MATLAB, or diagnostic tools.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work independently at remote test locations.

Responsibilities

• Execute validation tests, machine evaluations, and functional/safety tests in-field or at test facilities.
• Collect and analyze data using instrumentation and data acquisition tools.
• Troubleshoot, document performance, and support root-cause investigations.
• Maintain and prep pre-production or prototype machinery to keep test readiness.
• Collaborate with design, software, and manufacturing teams and interact with dealers and farmers.
