Job summary

Verizon in New York is hiring for an onsite telecommunications role to install, monitor, and maintain equipment at company facilities and customer sites, supporting America’s fastest network. You will work with a team to ensure reliable service and smooth turn‑ups of new circuits.

The position requires lifting, climbing, and occasional evenings or weekends. A valid driver’s license is required; an associate degree or 2+ years of relevant experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid state driver's license.
• Related Associate degree or 2+ years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in telecommunications is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Installing, monitoring, commissioning, testing and maintaining equipment for telecommunications services in facilities and customer properties.
• Assembling, installing, testing and maintaining transmission equipment.
• Maintaining new and existing circuits through troubleshooting and fault isolation techniques.
• Coordinating the testing and turn‑up of services with all involved providers.
• Reviewing, interpreting and analyzing services requests, work orders, and circuit diagrams.
• Climbing ladders and poles, working aloft, perceiving differences in wire colors, and lifting items up to 100 lbs.
• Working evenings, weekends, holidays and unscheduled shifts as determined by the needs of the business.
