Job summary

Liberty Harbor in Jersey City, NJ is seeking a Field Technician to install and repair electrical systems for the IT department. You will work with electrical components, wires, and conduits and follow blueprints.

The role requires 1-5 years of electrical experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Overtime may be required; strong safety and professional standards are expected.

Qualifications

• 1-5 years of electrical experience.
• Valid driver’s license in state of practice.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to bend, climb, squat, reach, and kneel.
• Comfortable reading electrical blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
• Demonstrated ability to operate hand and power tools.
• Willing to work overtime.

Responsibilities

• Measuring, cutting, and bending wire and conduit, using measuring instruments and hand tools.
• Installing power supply wiring and conduit such as: EMT, O-CAL, Rigid conduit, MC cable, strut, cable trays.
• Assisting with troubleshooting electrical components, wiring diagrams, transformers, IT panels, motors, and circuit.
• Helping to install, maintain, and repair electrical systems such as: access control panels and components, lighting, and power supplies, cameras and network equipment.
• Tracing out short circuits in wiring, using test meter.
• Examining electrical units for loose connections and broken insulation and tighten connections, using hand tools.
• Constructing controllers and panels, using power drills, drill presses, taps, saws and punches.
• Cleaning work area
• Maintaining tools and equipment and keeping parts and supplies in order
