Job summary

Rain for Rent seeks a Field Technician III to lay out, assemble, and maintain pipe, pumps, and matching equipment at agricultural or industrial sites. You will represent the company and build strong customer relationships in a hands-on field role.

Responsibilities include reading work orders, loading equipment, leading teams when needed, inspecting gear for safety, and testing systems on site. This role requires travel and a strong focus on safety and service.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have a valid Driver License.
  • Able to read maps and calculate distances.

Responsibilities

  • Read work orders or instructions to determine tasks and material needs.
  • Load, secure, and unload materials and equipment per specifications.
  • Lead a crew or complete projects independently as required.
  • Inspect equipment, vehicles, and tools for safety and functionality.
  • Assemble and secure pipes, fittings, and related equipment per project specs.
  • Test installed systems and pipe lines using appropriate methods.
  • Maintain tools and report damages or shortages to supervision.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction before leaving the job site.

Summary

The Field Technician III position will lay out, assemble, and maintain pipe, pumps, and related equipment for agricultural or industrial work sites. Positively represent the Company and maintain good relations with customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments and material and equipment needs.
  • Select pipe sizes and types and related materials according to specifications.
  • Load, secure, and unload materials and equipment with appropriate tools, machinery, and other equipment according to specifications.
  • Lead a crew or complete projects independently, as required by management.
  • Inspect equipment, company vehicles, and tools for safety and functionality prior to travel to customer sites.
  • Track and maintain company tools and supplies and report any damaged or missing items to Supervisor.
  • Complete Job Site Analysis for customer or job sites where work is to be performed.
  • Assemble and secure pipes, fittings, and related equipment according to project specifications.
  • Inspect, examine, and test installed systems and pipe lines using pressure gauge, hydrostatic testing, observation, or other methods.
  • Perform demonstration of equipment for customers upon install and testing completion if required.
  • Using hand and power tools, modify, clean, and maintain pipe systems, units, fittings, pumps, and related machines and equipment following specifications.
  • Follow QSE regulations
  • Ensure total customer satisfaction prior to leaving jobsite and answer any questions they may have.
  • Promote cooperation and good communication with all Branch and Corporate personnel.
  • Be an active participant in the Company’s Safety Culture.
  • Know and practice company’s value proposition.
Other Competencies

Other job competencies required to be successful in this position that are not listed elsewhere include:

  • Able to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • Able to use a calculator, cellular telephone, and tape measure/ruler.
  • Able to read a map and calculate distances.
  • Must be Motivated, a Team player, Safety-Oriented, and have a Customer Service orientation
